Community issue
Understanding community readiness – how ready a community is to address a particular issue – is an important tool for anyone concerned with health and community development. A community can’t be convinced to approach an issue until it realizes that the issue exists, and furthermore, that it affects the community. Concerns surveys are a form of community assessment in which people are asked to help identify what they see as the most important issues facing their community. The results can be used to help form strategies to deal with problems and maintain the things that are working well. You can also use the results to rally the community around your cause.
